One Cartridge, not a Box: 5.6x50mm Magnum (Rimless) by Hirtenberger of Austria, factory loaded using new, rimless, cases with a “HP 5.6×50 MAG” Head-Stamp and loaded with a Nosler, 55 Grain BT (Ballistic Tip) or PCJHP for Plastic Covered Jacketed Hollow Point projectile.
History of the 5.6x50mm Magnum and 5.6Rx50Rmm Magnum cartridges:
The 5.6x 50Rmm Magnum is a European Sporting Cartridge developed by Fredrick Heym and DWM and introduced in 1968 or 1969, and it was followed by the 5.6x50mm, rimless version or in 1970.
The 5.6x50mm Magnum is more powerful than the .223 or 5.6x45mm NATO and 222 Remington, but still short of the.22-250 Remington.
This cartridge is supposedly still used in Europe today, but very hard to find in the USA.
