Description
One Cartridge, not a box: .44 Smith & Wesson Special by Winchester Repeating Arms with older “W.R.A 44 S&W SPL” Headstamp and 246 grain lead projectile.
History of the 44 Smith & Wesson Special Cartridge:
The 44 Smith & Wesson Special, (a.k.a.) 44 Special was introduced in 1907 by Smith & Wesson for the newer smokeless powers of the era, as the older shorter 44 caliber cases were now long enough for the newer more efficient smokeless powder being introduced at the time. It is still a great big bore caliber for revolvers today, and many custom loads can come close to the 44 Remington Magnum in speed and energy.
