History of the .35 Whelen Cartridge:
The .35 Whelen was originally developed by basically widening the 30-06 case and keeping the same length to create a wildcat cartridge in 1922 by Col. Townsend Whelen for a rifle built by gunsmith James V. Howe (later known as the Griffin & Howe Company).
After standardizing the wildcat with SAAMI, Remington started producing the .35 Whelen cartridge for the public around 1978 . Muzzle Velocity: 2750 Feet per Second. Muzzle Energy: 3778 Foot Pounds
