History of the .30 Borchardt or 7.65Γ—25mm Borchardt Cartridge:

The .30 or 7.65Γ—25mm Borchardt cartridge was designed by Hugo Borchardt (an American) for the Model 1893 Borchardt semi-auto pistol and was the predecessor and  basis for the .30 (7.63Γ—25mm) Mauser and 7.62Γ—25mm Tokarev cartridges.  The only difference was the .30 (7.63Γ—25mm) Mauser and 7.62Γ—25mm Tokarev cartridges had higher pressure loadings than the .30 or (7.65Γ—25mm) Borchardt cartridge. The cartridge was produced in the USA and Germany; however, Remington Arms only offered cartridges until appx. 1919.
