History of the .30 Borchardt or 7.65Γ25mm Borchardt Cartridge:
The .30 or 7.65Γ25mm Borchardt cartridge was designed by Hugo Borchardt (an American) for the Model 1893 Borchardt semi-auto pistol and was the predecessor and basis for the .30 (7.63Γ25mm) Mauser and 7.62Γ25mm Tokarev cartridges. The only difference was the .30 (7.63Γ25mm) Mauser and 7.62Γ25mm Tokarev cartridges had higher pressure loadings than the .30 or (7.65Γ25mm) Borchardt cartridge. The cartridge was produced in the USA and Germany; however, Remington Arms only offered cartridges until appx. 1919.
