History of the .30 Borchardt or 7.65×25mm Borchardt Cartridge:
The .30 or 7.65×25mm Borchardt cartridge was designed by Hugo Borchardt (an American) for the Model 1893 Borchardt semi-auto pistol and was the predecessor and basis for the .30 (7.63×25mm) Mauser and 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridges. The only difference was the .30 (7.63×25mm) Mauser and 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridges had higher pressure loadings than the .30 or (7.65×25mm) Borchardt cartridge. The cartridge was produced in the USA and Germany; however, Remington Arms only offered cartridges until appx. 1919.
