History of the 224 VALKYRIE cartridge:
The .224 Valkyre cartridge was designed and developed by Federal Cartridge Company’s “skunk works guys” for the AR platform firearms by slightly shorting a 6.8mm Remington SPC cartridge and necking it down from 6.8mm to .270″ (.270 caliber) to .224″ or .22 Caliber, with a 30% shoulder.
The company is calling it the best AR-platform cartridge ever developed and able to maintain supersonic speeds past the 1,300-yard mark with a 90-grain Gold Medal Sierra MatchKing bullet
