History of 38 Long Colt Cartridge:
The 38 Long & Short Colt were introduced in the late 1800s, with the Short Colt for the Colt Army and Navy Revolvers in 1892, and the Long Colt for the New Police Colt revolver in 1875.
All the major manufacturers have stopped making this cartridge, however, a few small manufacturers still produce this caliber off and on, as component availability allows, making it mostly obsolete.
