One Cartridge, not a box: .32 Auto by Winchester/Orlin loaded with a 71 grain FMJ projectile and older “32 AUTO” head-stamp, produced app. 1931 to 1979 (by Shuey book) .

History of the .32 Auto cartridge:
Originally designed by John Browning and introduced in 1899, then first used in the FN M-1900 automatic pistol.
Designated as the 7.65x17mm Browning SR or 7.65 Browning in Europe, and .32 ACP, .32 Auto, or .32 Automatic in the United states. It is a semi-rimmed, not rimless, cartridge case and used a 0.308″ projectile.
