Description
One Cartridge , not a box, the picture of the box is for reference only! 1st design, Bronze projectile, some consider was armor piecing, but in question. .
One Cartridge, not a box.: .38 Smith & Wesson Special +P (a/k/a), .38 Special +P produced by PMC, Ultramag “Tubular” a/k/a Cookie Cutter. Produced with nickel coated brass cases which have a “PMC 38 SPECIAL+P” head stamp, nickel primer and loaded with a 66 grain “hollow”, “empty” tube projectile and a rear plastic wad. In Pistol and Military single cartridge categories. This Item History:
This PMC’s loading was based on some US military trials from the late 20th Century. The “bullet” is essentially a strong jacket whose base falls away once the projectile exits the barrel.
The remaining projectile is a very light, very HV .38 caliber “cookie cutter” which can cut through clothing and even Kevlar vests like the proverbial knife.
The military abandoned the research due to Geneva Convention concerns. PMC came up with this design they marketed to the LEO community for a while, but either it failed to excite that market or excited them too much, for it did not last long.

History of the 38 Smith & Wesson 38 Special Cartridge:
The Smith & Wesson .38 Special, also known as the .38 S&W Special, .38 Special, and .38 Colt Special (back in the day) was introduced in 1902 for the Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver.
It was and is still used in many different countries for their military and police departments and is considered one of the best handgun cartridges of all time, balancing recoil with takedown power. Although replaced in modern times by more semi-auto firearms calibers, the .38 S&W Special in a 2″ snub nose revolver is still considered one of the best concealed carry firearms today in 2016.
That is over 110 years of great service and still going strong.
No home or pocket should be without one.
