History of the 22 Extra Long Centerfire Maynard:
The 22 Extra Long Centerfire Maynard, also called 22-10-45 Maynard was introduced in the late 1800s for the Model 1882 single-shot rifle and to my knowledge was the first 22 caliber centerfire cartridge.
It was the center-fire verison of the 22 Extra Long Rimfire cartridge, and loaded with 8 to 10 grains of black-powder and a 45 grain lead projectile.
The cartridges were shot lived and replaced by the 22 WCF (Winchester CenterFire) cartridge.
